Floral Screen Resilience Sister Hook Small Mixed Clip Necklace in Mixed Gold with Diamonds

Description

Crafted in 18k Yellow and White Gold with Diamonds, our Floral Screen Resilience Sister Hook Small Mixed Clip represents the ability to withstand adversity and keep going. The Latin phrase dum spiro, spero around the medallion's edge translates to, “as long as I breathe, I hope” —a reminder in times of adversity that the sparrow will sing again.

This medallion design was inspired by intricately carved decorative screens placed over a high shine gold surface, so that the gold shows through the etched-out parts of the floral latticework. Here, the yellow gold flowers shine on a white gold ground. This medallion features a Medium Pavé Diamond Oval Annex Link, so you can easily clip it on and off the necklace for styling versatility.

The medallion hangs from a pair of Pavé Diamond Sister Hooks, which are fitted together so that each hook makes the other one more secure. The term ''sister hooks'' is often used when describing the button hooks on Victorian watch fobs. The use of the word sister in this terminology feels right. It belongs in association with security and strength.

Resilience

This piece is derived from the Resilience Tenet.
Because it is worth pursuing a life filled with blossoms which continue to bloom, even in darkness, against adversity. Below are the symbols and their meanings.

Blossoms

Wild, abundant, untamed, these flowers are fed with passion and continue to bloom even in adversity. Blossoms still bloom in darkness when tended.

Thorn

The thorn is a symbol of the risk we assume when we follow our hearts because you can't separate the blossom from its thorn. A juxtaposition of beginnings and endings, sorrow and joy; dark and light. Shown with a background of resilient dark blossoms.

Sparrow

We chose the Sparrow, to pictorially represent its homophone “Spero”, Latin for Hope. Choose to hold onto hope. Dum Spiro Spero: As long as I breathe, I hope.
