A Closer Look at the Tenet of Internal Compass

Internal Compass reminds us that we are the only ones who can define our own paths. No one else can choose your direction. We associate this Tenet with self-reflection. And its symbol is that of the compass. But it is a compass in mirror image, because it is only through self-reflection that we can determine the next "right" steps. Sometimes we must pause before we proceed. Our other symbols of Internal Compass are the horizon, which represents New Beginnings...the promise of a new day with all its possibilities; and the Pause, which is that of the fermata, a musical symbol that indicates when a note or rest should be held for a moment longer.

In this video, Beth invites us to explore the Tenet and its symbols, sharing the meaning it holds for her.
