Thank you to everyone who entered the raffle celebrating Black History Month! All proceeds of $6300 from the raffle were donated back to the Gee’s Bend Quilters Collective for the month of February.
The winner won a quilt made by China Pettway of the Gee’s Bend Quilters Collective and the book, The Quilts of Gee's Bend. The Gee’s Bend quilts carry forward the historic and proud tradition of textiles made for home and are created with such fine and unique artisanship that they live in the permanent collections of major museums from coast to coast, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, valued at tens of thousands of dollars each. The quilts are widely acknowledged as masterpieces of American Art.
