When it comes to color theory, many people think primarily of pigments. The concept of light in color theory is entirely different, where mixing is additive rather than subtractive. In light color theory, the primary colors are red, blue & green and it’s only by putting those colors in complete balance will we create white.
Each band can be worn on its own or stacked.
When designing the first pieces of Foundrae, the idea of “additive” was important to me. When I think of our lives, and our chapters, and what I am trying to express with this collection, I like to think of the word “and” rather than “but” or “yet” which somehow feel to me that we are trying to isolate qualities so they fit into a conveniently labeled box and not see that our unique identities rely on all of those “ands” strung together. Wholeness is finding that balance of all the “ands” and not letting one aspect of ourselves atrophy in order to feed another aspect.
